NEET UG 2026: Supreme Court To Hear Plea To Conduct Fresh Exam Under Judicial Supervision & Replace NTA

The Supreme Court of India will hear the plea filed by the Federation of All India Medical Association (FAIMA) challenging the ‘systemic failure’ of the National Testing Agency (NTA) in conducting the NEET UG 2026 exam.

The plea seeks directions to replace the NTA or restructure it and to conduct a fresh NEET-UG 2026 exam under judicial supervision.

It demands a ‘more robust, technologically advanced and autonomous body’ to hold the NEET examinations.

The plea also seeks to constitute a High-Powered  Monitoring Committee chaired by a retired Supreme Court judge, along with a cybersecurity expert and a forensic scientist to supervise the re-examination of NEET UG 2026 until a new independent exam body is formally constituted.

The plea is filed days after the NTA cancelled the NEET-UG 2026 examination held on May 3, following allegations of a paper leak and after the centre handed over the case to the CBI.

As per the reports, the guess papers circulating on WhatsApp and Telegram matched more than 100 questions in the actual examination paper.
