NEET UG 2026 Paper Leak: CBI Arrests Five Accused From Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Haryana
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested five people and conducted several searches at various locations across the country in connection with the alleged irregularities and paper leak related to the NEET UG 2026 examination.
CBI had registered a case on May 12, 2026, based on the written complaint received from the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, Government of India. The FIR was registered for offences including criminal conspiracy, cheating, criminal breach of trust, and other relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), the Prevention of Corruption Act, and the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024.
So far, CBSE has arrested five accused in the NEET Paper leak case, and further investigation is underway for several other suspects. As per the reports, the NEET UG 2026 paper was already out in the form of a guess paper on WhatsApp and Telegram, with almost over 100 questions matching the original paper in the exam.
Allegedly, Sikar was the hub of this entire paper leak scandal, where students were called in for a Mock test, a day before the actual exam, and given the guess paper to prepare. Almost 140 of the 180 questions were already provided in the guess paper which were sufficient to qualify the exam.

- Shubham Khairnar from Nashik (Maharashtra)
- Mangilal Biwal from Jaipur (Rajasthan)
- Vikas Biwal from Jaipur (Rajasthan)
- Dinesh Biwal from Jaipur (Rajasthan)
- Yash Yadav from Gurugram (Haryana)
Notably, a plea has been filed in the Supreme Court to conduct NEET UG 2026 under the Judicial supervision and also to scrap the NTA or to overhaul its structure.
The cancellation of NEET UG 2026 has left lakhs of students devasted who have been preparing for the exam for the entire year and had put their energy and resources in the exam.
