Former UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has taken up academic roles at the University of Oxford, UK, and the University of Stanford, US. Sunak has been appointed as a distinguished fellow and a member of the world leaders circle, announced the Oxford’s Blavatnik School of Government, on Monday. Also, Stanford University’s Hoover Institution has named him the William C Edwards Distinguished Visiting Fellow.
Rishi Sunak said, “I have huge affection for both Oxford and Stanford. I was fortunate enough to study at both they shaped my life and career, and I look forward to contributing to their world-leading research in the months and years ahead”.

Professor Ngaire Woods, dean of Blavatnik School said, that his expertise will support the institution’s effort to equip today’s public leaders with the skills to handle evolving global challenges, as well as seize the opportunities.
University of Oxford Chancellor-elect Willian Hague, said, “Rishi’s connection to Oxford University runs deep, and its great to see him coming back to his alma mater to contribute in such a meaningful way”. He will inspire the next generation of leaders at Oxford, said Hague.
At Stanford University’s Hoover Institution, he will focus on trans-Atlantic relations, economic policy, technology and global security challenges.
Jonathan Levin, President, Stanford University, said that Rishi Sunak’s deep knowledge of geopolitical issues and economic policy will be an excellent addition to Hoover fellows and to the university.
Currently, Sunak helds position in the House of Commons, where he serves as a Tory MP on the Oppostion backbenches.

Before entering in British politcs, Sunak had a successful career in international business and finance. He co-founded an investment firm that collaborated with companies across various regions and played a major role in supporting the growth of small and entrepreneurial businesses in the UK.
