South Korean conglomerate Samsung Electronics is all set to strengthen its digital health ecosystem by collaborating with major universities and academic hospitals. This announcement was made by Samsung during the Samsung Developer Conference 2023 (SDC23) in San Francisco. For this initiative, Samsung will collaborate with the MIT(Massachusetts Institute of Technology) Media Lab, Tulane University School of Medicine, Brigham & Women’s Hospital and Samsung Medical Center.

Samsung is focusing to boost the digital health ecosystem and new approaches to wellness through this project. Samsung will use the research findings from these collaborations to understand how different aspects of a person’s life can affect their health as well as to provide the full wellness potential of personal devices.

Samsung is focusing on finding new digital profiles for monitoring and improving sleep by partnering with the MIT Media Lab. The company believes that wearable sleep tracking solutions will enhance the sleep of human beings in the future. During this digital initiative, Samsung will also collaborate with Brigham & Women’s Hospital to look into how resilience and weakness can be used to personalize health profiles of individuals. The research findings are expected to help individuals to develop higher resilience against stress.

Samsung will utilize the partnership with Tulane University School of Medicine to achieve a proper understanding of indicators of cardiovascular diseases. Samsung will use the BioActive sensor from the Samsung Galaxy Watch for this initiative. Samsung will establish an integrated analysis data platform and enhanced algorithms for abnormal symptom notification by partnering with Samsung Medical Center. Overall, by investing in such a unique project, Samsung wants to unlock their health and fitness tracking capabilities with its future gadgets, including smartwatches and the rumored Galaxy smart ring.
