
Student Body Slams Jamia For Excluding Kerala As Exam Center
Fraternity Movement Jamia Millia Islamia strongly condemns the discriminatory exclusion of Kerala from multiple city exam centers in the upcoming entrance examinations. The removal of Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, previously the only exam center in South India, creates significant hardship for thousands of aspirants from South Indian states who must now travel great distances to centers in Bhopal, Delhi, Srinagar, and other locations.

Since only 9 undergraduate courses and 5 postgraduate courses are admitting students through Common University Entrance Test (CUET) held by NTA, all others expecting admission in other courses will have to travel to North India for giving entrance tests.
We also opposes the recent fee hikes implemented in the fee structure for FYUP, Diploma, and certificate programmes as outlined in the new prospectus 2025-26 released by Jamia Millia Islamia University. A minimum increase of 2000 rupees is apparent in almost every course offered by the university compared to 2024-25 prospectus. These are unnecessary and burden the students. We firmly believe that such trends of monetizing education make it inaccessible for many students and should not be permitted in university settings.

Fraternity Movement JMI said to submit a formal letter to the Jamia administration demanding immediate action on both issues. “We assert that the administration has a responsibility to ensure education remains accessible to all students and aspirants, regardless of economic status or regional differences”, it mentioned.
