The lack of transparency in the result procedure and methodology has created distress among students who invested a full year in preparing for the exam. The prospect of failure sometimes leads young candidates to take extreme measures. Candidates and student associations are raising questions on the credibility of NTA to conduct the exam. The political parties, journalists such as Ravish Kumar, and social media influencer Dhruv Rathee are spreading awareness regarding the plight of medical aspirants.

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, the general secretary of Congress taking the student’s worries ahead criticised the government and the testing agency. Ms. Vadra also expressed her concern earlier when the alleged paper leak cases emerged. Concerning the latest result-related irregularities, Priyanka Gandhi said, “First the NEET exam paper was leaked and now students are alleging that there has been a scam in its results as well. Serious questions are being raised over 6 students from the same center getting 720 out of 720 marks and many kinds of irregularities are coming to light”.
