A controversy erupted in Bihar’s Siwan district after over 100 students were barred from sitting in the intermediate sent-up exams at SS High School cum Inter College, Bhagwanpur Haat. Following the directives issued by the college principal, those students wearing jeans and carrying mobile phones were not allowed to sit in the examination.
The students protested at the college’s main gate showing their concerns and anger at being excluded from appearing for the examination. This sent-up exam is essential for students to qualify for the final exams, and debarring them from this exam could affect their future.

Later the situation was resolved after the intervention of the police and school administration, speaking to restore the order. Now the re-exam will be conducted on November 20, 2024.
Principal Lababu Kumar has appealed to parents to work with the college administration to help students follow discipline in schools. As per the rules students have to wear formal uniforms while appearing for the exam and the use of electronic devices is banned within the college premises to maintain discipline.

Also, the students with attendance lesser than 75% were deemed ineligible to sit for the exams alongside those who wore jeans or brought mobile phones. To accommodate affected students, the college has announced a re-exam date and issued a notice to ensure clarity on the matter.
