'The Government Is Committed To Ensure Candidate's Interest As Per Supreme Court's Order': Dharmendra Pradhan On NEET Exam Case

Amid the ongoing nationwide protests and petitions filed in the Supreme Court, the central government has decided to re-conduct the NEET examination for 1563 students who were given grace marks for the time-lapse during the examination. The honorable Supreme Court demanded a response from the National Testing Agency and the central government regarding the NEET irregularities.

A panel has also been formed to look into the matter and take appropriate measures for the related issues. On June 8, 2024, NTA and the Ministry of Education formed a four-member committee to review the NEET-related matter.

The Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan responded through social media ‘X’ and assured candidates of the government’s commitment to secure their future. While writing on X, the education minister said, “The central government is committed to ensuring the interests of the candidates as per the Supreme Court’s order in the NEET exam case. I want to assure the candidates that no child’s career will be tampered with”.

Mr Pradhan also assured candidates about the government moves as per directions of the Supreme Court. He said, “The facts related to this matter are in the knowledge of the Hon’ble Supreme Court. The government will take whatever necessary steps as per the directions of the Hon’ble Supreme Court.”

Concerning the NEET counseling, he said, “The counseling process of NEET is about to start and now there is a need to move forward in this direction without getting confused”. Notably, the NEET aspirants are demanding a stay on the NEET counseling till the case is properly solved. The Supreme Court also responded by continuing the counseling process.
