UPSC Aspirants Now To Get 'Corporate Roles' Under Pratibha Setu Scheme
Every year, almost 2000 candidates miss the final list of the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Civil Services Examination. However, with this, the opportunity to join the government sector does not go away, as several candidates join various departments under the Public Disclosure Scheme (PDS) or Pratibha Setu. Now, the candidates who narrowly miss the final selection list will get an opportunity to unlock exciting private sector jobs through PDS.
Earlier, such non-selected candidates were appointed to the government departments. But, from 2025, private companies can also access the profiles of these candidates. With the candidate’s consent, UPSC shares profiles of the candidates detailing educational background, exam performance, and contact information through a verified online portal.

Notably, only those private sector companies that have been verified by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs can access the portal, and companies can filter candidates by education, skills, and exam performance.
UPSC keeps track of the placements and monitors job offers for transparency, while the companies are required to upload appointment letters to ensure accountability.
The PDS was launched for Public Sector Units (PSUs) in 2018, and has now been extended to the private sector also.

Reportedly, the UPSC secretary has also urged central government departments to motivate their private sector partners to use the PDS portal for recruiting candidates who missed the list by just a few marks. It aims to help deserving candidates build successful careers despite narrowly missing selection.
