Patna, Bihar: ‘Khan Sir’, originally Faizal Khan, had recently been booked by police for allegedly asking his security guards to fire if needed when a group of masked men barged into his Khan Global Studies (KGS) institute in Bihar’s Patna. The incident happened on June 2 when the masked men barged into the CGS building in Patna, pelted stones, tore down posters, and assaulted a security guard.

During the attack allegedly by the rival institutes, Khan Sir reportedly encouraged the guards to use force, saying, Jab tac police nah ayah hail, tab tac ek bodyguard ko kya Karna Chayes? (What should a bodyguard do until the police arrive?). They didn’t fire at anyone and didn’t conceal their actions. Police take time to arrive, they don’t come flying in five minutes. In the meantime, should we throw flowers at them or stand with an artsy plate and ask them to beat us too? Indian Express quotes.  The violent group allegedly vandalised Khan Sir’s coaching center. Khan has also alleged that the anti-national elements opened fire.

The popular educator was later booked under charges of attempted murder and the Arms Act in connection with the violent clash and vandalism outside his coaching institute, for allegedly directing fire at the aggressors. Khar Sir has publicly alleged that his institute is targeted because of its highly accessible fee structure. His institute, intended to help poor and marginalized students, offers reasonable prices, which range from very nominal to competitive rates.

The fee structure reportedly disrupts the pricing structure of the rival institutes, causing rivalries.  Notably, following the attack on Khar Sir’s institute, authorities arrested three individuals associated with a rival coaching institute (Gyan Bindu Coaching Center), including its director, Raushan Anand, after conducting an investigation.

Police also registered an FIR against Khan Sir under the Arms Act and provisions for attempted murder, citing his guards’ involvement in the firing. Two of his security guards were arrested and remanded to judicial custody after weapons were recovered and tested.

Khan Sir is a highly popular Indian educator known for simplifying complex subjects—like General Studies, Geography, and Current Affairs—into engaging, humorous, and relatable lessons. He is also praised for providing affordable, high-quality education to millions of students preparing for competitive exams like UPSC, SSC, and Railways. Following the police case, hundreds of students gathered outside his institute, announcing their support for the popular educator.
