Dharmapuri District DMK Deputy Secretary A Mani has been fielded as the DMK candidate for the Dharmpuri Lok Sabha constituency. A Mani hails from the village of Bharathipuram. He has been a member of the party since 1987.
From 2016 to 2019, A Mani served as the vice organizer of the advocate team in Dharmapuri district DMK. From 2020 to 2022, he served as a member of the District Responsibility Committee. Since 2023, A Mani has been the deputy secretary of DMK in Dharmapuri West District. In 2019, he contested as a DMK candidate in the by-election for the Papriprettipatti Legislative Assembly constituency but couldn’t secure the seat. A Mani is a lawyer by profession.
Dharmapuri constituency is one among the 39 Tamil Nadu Parliamentary. It has 6 Assembly constituencies. In the 2019 Lok Sabha election, Dr. S Senthikumar was fielded as the DMK candidate and he won the seat by securing 5,74,988 votes. Meanwhile, in the 2014 Lok Sabha election, PMK candidate Anbumani Ramadoss won the seat by securing 4,68,194 votes.
DMK has dropped the current sitting MP S Senthilkumar who made the ‘gaumutra states’ remark in the Parliament. Senthil who was denied the Lok Sabha seat described himself as an “unconventional” politician while thanking his friends on X who wondered why he was not given another chance by the party to contest the LS polls.
However, Senthil Kumar conveyed his best wishes to the advocate who has been currently fielded in his constituency.
