In Haryana’s Assandh Assembly constituency, as per the election commission data, the BJP candidate Yoginder Singh Rana has secured victory. Rana won the seat with 54,761 votes, defeating incumbent MLA and Congress leader Shamsher Singh Gogi secured 52,455 votes.
The winning margin for Rana is 2,306 votes.
The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) candidate Gopal Singh stands third with 27,396 votes.
In the 2019 elections, Gogi won the seat with 32,114 votes while BSP candidate Narender Singh secured 30,411 votes.
In 2014, the seat was under the rule of BJP candidate Bakhshish Singh Virk who won with nearly 30,723 votes with BSP candidate Maratha Virender Verma following behind with 26,115 votes.
A total of 14 candidates were in the electoral race for the Assandh Assembly seat including Advocate Soniya Bohat (IND), Amandeep Singh Jundla (AAP), Baljit Singh (IND), Gopal Singh (BSP), Harjeet Singh (SADA), Jaipal Punia (IND), Maratha Virender Verma (NCPSP), Pardeep (IND), Prem Chand (BHP), Ramphal (IND), Rekha (IND), and Zile Ram Sharma (IND).
