Congress Won’t Be Intimidated: Mallikarjun Kharge

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge on Monday unleashed a fierce attack against Prime Minister Narendra Modi for misusing central investigating agencies for political purposes. He said, the Congress will not be intimidated and will continue its forward march.

Addressing a huge public rally on Rajasthan“s Jodhpur, Mr Kharge sneered at the Prime Minister, and said that the only new thing he had brought to the country was the misuse of the Enforcement Directorate, Income Tax Department and the Central Bureau of Investigation like never before. Congress President questioned why these agencies were silent for five years and got active only on the eve of elections. This never happened during the time of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, Mrs Indira Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi or even at the time of Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Congress President added.

Mr Kharge, claimed that PM Modi had panicked after BJP”S defeats in Karnataka, Himachal Pradesh and local bodies elections in Ladakh. He then attacked BJP for giving clean chits to tainted leaders.
Mr Kharge pointed out that Mr Modi gave false promises of depositing Rs 15 lakhs in everybody’s bank account or generating 2 crore jobs every year.

The Congress president said, it was his party, which had always worked for poor and brought MGNREGA or the Food Security Act. He said, now even Prime Minister has started talking about providing free food to poor, which earlier he used to scornfully dismiss as “rewdi” (freebies).

Listing the outstanding achievements of the Congress government in the state, he appealed to the people of Rajasthan to break the tradition of changing the governments every five years. He then pointed out, besides the Chiranjeevi health scheme, restoration of old pensions scheme for government employees, provision of Gas cylinder at Rs. 500, and free 100 units of electricity, the guarantees such as Rs 10,000 every year to women, purchase of cow dung at Rs 2 per kg, free laptops and tablets to students, guaranteed English education and expansion of Indira Rasoi scheme are some plans party has in mind for the state.

Rajasthan will go to the booths on November 25, and counting will take place on December 3.
