The Bharatiya Janata Party has fielded Devusinh Jesinghbhai Chauhan as its candidate from Kheda constituency in Gujarat. Chauhan is currently serving as the Minister of State for Communication of India.
Kheda Lok Sabha constituency is one of the 26 Lok Sabha constituencies.
The first list announced by the saffron party consists of 195 candidates. In the 2014 general election, the BJP leader won from the Kheda constituency by securing 5,68,235 votes against the Congress candidate Dinsha Patel.
Born in 1964, Chauhan has completed his Diploma course in Electrical Engineering from the Government Polytechnic College in Electrical Engineering from the Government Polytechnic College in Porbander. Chauhan hails from the city of Navagam.
The BJP leader has repeated his win in the 2019 general election. He became the sitting MP of Kheda by securing 7,14,572 votes.
After his graduation, the BJP leader worked as an engineer in Akashvani Kendra as a government servant for 13 years before entering into politics. Chauhan to know the root cause of the problems of the people of Matar constituency, constantly toured the village. Being a passionate leader, Narendra Modi fielded Chauhan in the Mata constituency in the 2007 assembly election. He won the seat and became the MLA of Matar for the very first time. And this marks the first stepping stone of his political career.
Later, Chauhan has taken up many positions in the party. From 2016 to 2020, he served as the BJP President of the Kheda district. Since 2015, he served as a member of the Water Resort Committee and I.T Committee. Chauhan was also part of the standing committee of Defense and Ministry of Food Processing Industries.
