In Laxmi Nagar, Abhay Verma of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) emerged victorious with 65,858 votes, leading by a margin of 11,542 votes. He currently serves as the Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Laxmi Nagar.
B B Tyagi of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)lost with 54,316 votes, trailing by 11,542 votes. Sumit Sharma of the Indian National Congress also faced defeat, securing only 4,316 votes, marking a significant shortfall of 61,542 votes.

Laxmi Nagar is a central and important area in East Delhi, previously known as Trans Yamuna. It has become a popular shopping hub for clothes and daily necessities.
Abhay Verma, born on January 5, 1973, is an Indian lawyer and politician from Delhi associated with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He serves as a member of the Delhi Legislative Assembly and is the vice president of the Delhi unit of BJP.
Abhay Verma was born to Bankey Bihari Verma and Urmila Devi. He graduated with an LLB from the University of Delhi in 1996.
Verma is the vice president of the Delhi unit of the BJP. He was elected as an MLA for Laxmi Nagar on February 11, 2020. Verma married Amrita Prakash on November 30, 2001.

During the North East Delhi riots, a video showed Verma leading a march in Laxmi Nagar where participants chanted provocative slogans. Verma claimed that these slogans were raised by common people, not his supporters.
After winning, stated, “This victory reflects my faith and dedication. I was present before the nomination, I was there before the voting, and today I am here before the counting and here I win.”
