Here's What AAP's Top Ministers Said After Delhi Election Loss
The results of the Delhi Assembly election 2025 have been declared, and they bring significant setbacks for the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, both key leaders of AAP, have conceded defeat to their BJP rivals in their respective constituencies.
Kejriwal lost to BJP’s Parvesh Verma in the high-profile New Delhi seat, while Sisodia was defeated by Tarvinder Singh Marwah of the BJP in Jangpura.
Despite these notable losses, AAP managed to secure victories in several areas through its ministers Gopal Rai, Mukesh Ahlawat, and Imran Hussain, who successfully retained their seats.
However, the overall picture shows the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on track to form the next government, leading in 48 out of the 70 Delhi Assembly seats, while the Indian National Congress (INC) failed to secure any seats.

In his response to the defeat, Manish Sisodia shared a heartfelt message on the social media platform X, acknowledging the people’s verdict, stating, “I heartily thank the people of Delhi, who gave me the opportunity to serve them for 12 years and shape the future of their children. If the education system needs to be improved, then politics is the only way to do it. That is why I have dedicated my life to education and will continue to work for it in the future too. Jai Hind.”
