Rajesh Nagar, who competed for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) secured a decisive victory with 94,229 votes in the Tigaon constituency in Haryana defeating Lalit Nagar who was an Independent candidate by a total margin of 37,401 votes. Lalit Nagar secured 56,828 votes and Congress’ Rohit Nagar garnered 21,656 votes. Rajesh Nagar was first elected to the Haryana Legislative Assembly in 2014 and retained his seat in the 2019 election. As the son of Rup Singh Nagar, Rajesh has carried forward his family’s legacy in politics.
According to the election affidavit filed with the Election Commission of India, he is into business and has been contributing to politics with his father Rup Singh Nagar. Rajesh Nagar’s total declared assets are counted as Rs 12.1 crore with Rs 1.8 crore in movable assets and Rs 10.4 crore considered as immovable assets.
Rajesh Nagar also won in the 2019 Haryana Assembly elections seat defeating Lalit Nagar S/O Sh. Bharat Singh of INC by a margin of 33,841 which was 19.99% of the total votes cast for the seat. BJP had a vote share of 57.38% in 2019 in this seat for that election.
