The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference candidate Khurshied Ahmed is running ahead in the J & K Assembly elections 2024. The NC candidate has taken a lead of 6527 votes from the independent candidate Aijaz Ahmad Khan. The Jammu and Kashmir elections are taking place after 10 years since the abrogation of Article 370 in August 2019.
The voting in Jammu and Kashmir took place in three phases September 18, September 25, and October 1. The Gulabgarh went on for voting on September 25 in phase 2. The voter turnout was 59% in the first phase, 56% in the second phase, and 69.65% in the third and final phase.
Gulabgarh constituency is an ST seat. The Gulabgarh constituency seat was won by INC candidate Mumtaz Ahmed in 2014 and a total of 68% votes were cast in 2014. In 2008, JKN Abdul Gani Malik won the Gulabgarh seat with a total of 14268 votes by defeating INC candidate Mumtaz Ahmed.
