After confronting a massive defeat in the Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Chhattisgarh elections, the Indian National Congress is still hopeful for the 2024 general election. The party believes in its potency and the power to resurrect itself. Taking to Twitter, Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh reminded the party workers that the party had confronted the same situation 20 years ago, when the grand old party lost the state elections in Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, and Rajasthan.
However, the party bounced back after being the single largest party in the Lok Sabha Polls. The party could form the government at the center that year. Earlier, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge said that the Congress fought a spirited campaign and is determined to overcome the temporary setbacks.

In Telangana, Congress has staged a clear dominance, winning nine seats with a lead of 59 seats. The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) party has conceded its defeat in the state.
Taking to X, the state minister KTR said, “I am not saddened over the result today, but surely disappointed as it was not in our expectations.” But we will take this in stride as learning and will bounce back.”
He congratulated Congress on their victory.
In Madhya Pradesh, as the vote count progresses, the BJP has won 22 seats, giving it a clear lead of 158 seats. With this, the party has crossed the majority mark of 116. The Indian National Congress has won seven seats and others in one. Congress is leading with 63 seats.
In Rajasthan, the BJP has won 49 seats with a total lead of 115. The Indian National Congress is trailing behind the BJP with a lead of 70 seats and 23 wins.
In Chhattisgarh, the BJP is leading in 47 seats and has crossed the majority mark of 46 seats. The Indian National Congress is trailing behind with 41 seats.
