PM Modi Says "Sindoor Boils In My Veins"; Congress Counters With 4 Questions

In his first public rally following India’s military retaliation for the Pahalgam attack, Operation Sindoor, Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared in Rajasthan’s Bikaner on Thursday that the terror attack had been avenged within 22 minutes. Speaking in emotive terms, the Prime Minister said, “Not blood, sindoor boils in my veins,” drawing a symbolic link between cultural pride and national retaliation.

The Prime Minister claimed that the operation — conducted on May 7 in response to the April 22 terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam that left 26 dead — had destroyed nine major terrorist hideouts in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. He asserted that India had given its military a free hand, resulting in the elimination of approximately 100 terrorists associated with groups like Jaish-e-Mohammed, Lashkar-e-Taiba, and Hizbul Mujahideen.

Addressing the rally, PM Modi remarked, “The enemies of the world and the country have seen what happens when vermilion turns into gun powder.” He added that the entire nation was affected by the Pahalgam attack, saying, “Those bullets were fired in Pahalgam, but those bullets pierced the hearts of 140 crore countrymen.”

The Prime Minister also drew historical parallels, recalling his rally in Rajasthan following the 2019 Balakot airstrikes. “It is a coincidence that after Balakot, my first rally was here, and now after Operation Sindoor, I’m again in Rajasthan. This land of Veerbhoomi strengthens our resolve,” he said.

Modi inaugurated the redeveloped Deshnoke Station under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, flagged off the Bikaner-Mumbai Express, and offered prayers at the Karni Mata Temple. He also interacted with local schoolchildren during his visit.

However, the Congress party was quick to criticise what it described as “filmi dialogues” and demanded serious answers. Jairam Ramesh, Congress General Secretary in charge of communications, said, “Instead of throwing out grand sounding but hollow filmi dialogues in public rallies as he has done in Bikaner today, the Prime Minister should answer serious questions that are being asked of him.”

Ramesh posed four pointed queries to the Prime Minister:

1. Why are the perpetrators of the Pahalgam terror attack still at large, despite being linked to previous attacks in Poonch, Gagangir, and Gulmarg over the past 18 months?

2. Why has the Prime Minister not convened an all-party meeting to take the Opposition into confidence?

3. Why has he not called for a special Parliament session to reaffirm and update the 1994 resolution on Pakistan, especially in light of the China-Pakistan nexus highlighted during Operation Sindoor?

4. Why has he remained silent on repeated assertions by US figures — including former President Trump and Secretary of State Rubio — about America’s role in the operation?
