Galgotia University has remained in the news recently after the Greater Noida University was reportedly asked to vacate the AI Impact Summit Expo after a controversy over a robot dog displayed at its stall. The issue began after a video went viral in which Professor Neha Singh introduced a robot dog named “Orion” and said it was developed by the university’s Centre of Excellence.

She also mentioned that the machine could be used for surveillance and monitoring across the campus. Soon after the video spread online, several viewers claimed that the robot dog was actually made by the Chinese company Unitree Robotics, and not developed by the university.

Following the incident at Galgotia University, a satire has gone viral on social media, with the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) claiming to the media regarding recent speculation linking Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Galgotia University amid the ongoing controversy at the India AI Impact Summit 2026.

As per the social media satirical post, “The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) has issued a clarification to the media regarding recent speculation linking Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Galgotias University amid the ongoing controversy at the India AI Impact Summit 2026. In a statement, the PMO emphasized that the Prime Minister is not a graduate of Galgotias University and confirmed that he completed his Bachelor of Arts degree from Miranda House College, which comes under Delhi University”.

“The clarification comes in the wake of widespread online discussions and memes triggered by Galgotias University’s display of a robotic dog, identified as the imported Chinese Unitree Go2 model branded as “Orion,” at the summit expo. This led to backlash, stall vacate orders, and university statements denying any claim of in-house development. The PMO described the matter as unrelated to the Prime Minister’s educational credentials, which have long been a matter of public record from Delhi University”, it added.

In the disclaimer, the social media page clarified it just being a satire, “This is NOT real news, This post and page is completely satire. This post is meant for entertainment purposes only.”

Notably, the five-day AI Impact Summit, from February 16 to 20 at Bharat Mandapam, has drawn more than 500 global AI leaders, 150 academics and researchers, and 400 chief technology officers, vice-presidents, and philanthropists.
