Prof. Neha's Suspension Is Not Decided Yet: Galgotias University Registrar
Greater Noida’s private university, Galgotias University, has come under severe scrutiny after showcasing a Robodog ‘Orion’ claiming it was manufactured by the centre of excellence facility of the university. However, later the claim was rejected once online users later identified the machine as the Go2 mode made by the Chinese firm Unitree Robotics, which is commercially available starting at about 200,000 rupees.
Speculations have arisen since regarding the expulsion of the Galgotias University professor, Neha Singh, after the backlash. Now, the University registrar has cleared the air about the expulsion and suspension matter. According to Nitin Kumar Gaur, the Galgotias University registrar, the university is looking into the matter, and the due action will be taken after a thorough investigation.

Upon the question of the suspension of Prof. Neha Singh, the registrar denied the suspension as of now and confirmed that Ms. Neha is still a part of the university and no action has taken against her. However, the prof. has not joined since then. But, she is still be the part of the institution. The appropriate decision will be taken after viewing the matter and investigation.

Later, the university denied the claims that it had built the robot and described the backlash as a ‘propaganda campaign’. “We would like to clearly state that the robotic programming is part of our endeavour to make students learn AI programming and develop and deploy real-world skills using globally available tools and resources, given that developing AI talent is the need of the hour,” the university said.
