Neha Singh Expelled From Galgotias University After AI Summit Robodog Controversy
Speculation is growing on social media about whether Professor Neha Singh has been expelled from Galgotias University following the robodog controversy at the India AI Impact Summit 2026.
The debate started after Neha Singh’s LinkedIn profile showed that she is “open to work.” This update led many users online to question whether she is still employed at the university.
The incident took place at the India AI Impact Summit 2026 held at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi.
In a viral video, Neha Singh introduced a robotic dog named “Orion” at the university’s stall. She said the robot was developed by the university’s Centre of Excellence and described it as capable of surveillance and campus monitoring.

Soon after, social media users claimed that the robotic dog was actually manufactured by the Chinese robotics company Unitree Robotics.
The claims led to criticism and raised questions about whether the product had been wrongly presented as an in-house innovation.

Galgotias University later issued a public statement apologising for the confusion. The university said that its representative was “ill-informed” about the technical origins of the product and was not authorised to speak to the media.
The university also confirmed that it vacated its stall at the summit following directions from organisers.
As of now, there is no official confirmation that Neha Singh has been expelled, terminated, or asked to resign.
Neither Singh nor Galgotias University has announced any change in her employment status.
According to her LinkedIn profile, she joined Galgotias University in November 2023 as a faculty member in Communications at the School of Management.

Her previous roles include working at Sharda University, Career Launcher, and GITAM. She completed her MBA from Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya and earned a B.Com degree from the University of Allahabad.
The “open to work” status on LinkedIn does not officially confirm that she has left the university.
In her response to the controversy, Neha Singh said it was never her intention to misrepresent the robotic dog as indigenously developed.
She said the issue may have arisen due to unclear communication and added that she takes accountability for not expressing the details properly during the presentation.
