"Joker, Entertainer": Dayanidhi Maran's Fresh Attack On Annamalai

After posing the question of “Who is Annamalai?” to the media that stole the limelight for a whole day, Tamil Nadu politician and DMK leader Dayanidhi Maran repeated his attack on the state BJP chief with fresh comments. In the latest attack, Mr Maran, a former union minister and three-time Central Chennai Lok Sabha MP, repeated the word he used earlier to talk about Mr Annamalai, who is heading an active campaign for the BJP in the Southern state: Joker. And added one more word: Entertainer.

Earlier in the day, responding to Maran’s attack which he did during an interview with India Today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi used the occasion to attack DMK for calling “a young leader coming from the backward community who have served in the police force and trying to make amends in the society” names. PM Modi had said that the people will give the DMK answer for their arrogance when they vote against the ruling party in Tamil Nadu. K Annamalai is also the BJP candidate from the super-important Coimbatore constituency for the Lok Sabha elections.

According to a video posted on social media by news agency ANI, Mr Maran was heard saying these things about Mr Annamalai an IIM alumnus and former police officer: “He (Annamalai) keeps on changing his stance. First he was against NEET. Now he supports NEET…He says that he doesn”t know Hindi. Then he now speaks fluent Hindi. He keeps on changing his colours like a Chameleon. He behaves like a joker. So I stand by my stand words. He is a joker. We need people like him. He”s a good entertainer. Please Annamalai, continue.”

PM Modi, while addressing a public rally in Tamil Nadu today, has said that the DMK is a family company and it promotes dynastic politics. Dayanidhi Maran is son of late DMK politician and union minister Murasoli Maran and grandnephew of the DMK ideologue-cum-founding leader M Karunanidhi, father of current chief minister of Tamil Nadu, MK Stalin. A businessman-politician, Maran is also the brother of Kalanidhi Maran, the chairman of Sun Network, one of the largest media conglomerate in South India.
