Kerala Assembly Elections 2026: IUML’s Kallatra Mahin Wins Kasaragod With Massive Vote Margin

As per Election Commission data, Kallatra Mahin of the Indian Union Muslim League has secured a decisive victory in the Kasaragod constituency. He won with 76,396 votes, defeating Ashwini M. L of the Bharatiya Janata Party, who polled 53,698 votes.

Mahin registered a huge winning margin of 22,698 votes after the completion of all 16 rounds of counting. The large gap clearly shows strong voter support for the IUML candidate and a dominant performance in the constituency.

Independent candidate Shanavas Padhoor finished third with 36,678 votes, trailing significantly behind the leading candidates. The wide difference highlights that the contest was largely one-sided in the final stages.

The consistent lead maintained by Mahin throughout the counting process played a key role in securing this comfortable victory. The result strengthens the position of the IUML in the region and reflects clear voter preference in favour of the party.

With this result, the IUML successfully retains its influence in Kasaragod, marking one of the major wins in the constituency.

The counting of votes for the 2026 Kerala Assembly elections began at 8:00 am on Monday, marking the culmination of a high-stakes political battle among the United Democratic Front (UDF), the ruling Left Democratic Front (LDF), and the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA).
