Kerala Assembly Elections 2026: LDF Wins Alathur As T. M. Sasi Secures Clear Victory

The counting of votes for the 2026 Kerala Assembly elections began at 8:00 am on Monday, marking the culmination of a high-stakes political battle among the United Democratic Front (UDF), the ruling Left Democratic Front (LDF), and the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA).

As per the final results from Alathur, T. M. Sasi of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) has secured victory in the constituency with 61,564 votes. He won by a margin of 8,553 votes over K. M. Febin of the Congress, who polled 53,011 votes.

The result comes after the completion of all 13 rounds of counting, confirming a clear and steady win for the LDF candidate. The consistent lead across the counting rounds reflects strong voter support for Sasi in the constituency.

The margin of over 8,000 votes indicates a comfortable victory for the LDF, showing that the party has been able to maintain its position in Alathur.

While the Congress candidate put up a competitive fight, the gap remained in favour of the LDF throughout the counting process.
