Kukatpalle's Trusted Leader: Madhavaram Krishna Rao Seals Third Consecutive Win in Telangana Assembly Elections

Bharat Rashtra Samithi candidate Madhavaram Krishna Rao won the election by defeating INC’s (Indian National Congress) Bandi Ramesh in the Kukatpalle constituency. This is the term Mr. Rao coming to power. Despite the tough competition between current MLA Madhavaram Krishna Rao and INC’s Bandi Ramesh, Madhavaram won the election by a wide margin. 

With an astounding 1,35,635 votes, he easily defeated his closest rival, Bandi Ramesh of the Indian National Congress (INC), who received 65,248 votes. Mr Mummareddy Prema Kumar of the Janasena party came third with 39,830 votes. 

The elections to Telangana State Assembly were held on November 30 for 119 seats. Kukatpalle is one of 14 constituencies in Medchal- Malkajgiri District. It is part of the Malkajgiri Lok Sabha constituency.

 In 2014, TDP’s Madhavarama Krishna Rao defeated G.Padma Rao as the former polled 99,874 votes and the latter polled 56,609 votes. INC’s M Narsimha Yadav came third with 23,321 votes. The total electorate was 4,69,352 in 2014.

Madhavaram Krishna Rao of the then Telangana Rashtra Samithi was the winning candidate from the Kukatpalle constituency in the Telangana Assembly elections 2018, securing 1,11,612 votes while 70,563 votes were polled in favor of Nandamuri Venkata Suhasini of the Telugu Desam party. The margin of victory was 41,049 votes. BSP’s Harish Chandra Reddy Pannala came third with 12,761 votes. The constituency had 3,72,852 voters then.

Overall, according to the latest reports, out of the total 119 seats, Congress is leading with 53 seats and BRS is in second. BJP is currently in the third position in the total seat share. Along with Telangana, the Assembly elections were held in four other states including Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Mizoram and Chhattisgarh.
