Maharajganj Shows Tight Race Between JDU And RJD Candidates
Janata Dal (United) candidate Hem Narayan Sah is leading in Maharajganj, while RJD’s Vishal Kumar Jaiswal is trailing with 1172 votes, as per the early vote count trends of the ECI. However, the earlier RJD candidate was running ahead. The upcoming trends can show changes in leading and trailing race.
The fight in Maharajganj is between Hem Narayan Sah (JDU), Vishal Kumar Jaiswal (RJD), Ravi Ranjan Tisu (BSP), Sunil Ray (JSP) and Madan Yadav (ASP(K). Voting in Maharajganj took place in 06-11-2025 under Phase 1.
In 2020, the seat was won by the INC candidate Vijay Shankar Dubey, while from 2005 to 2020, JDU Damodar Singh captured the seat for three consecutive terms. In the last Assembly Election held in 2020, Vijay Shankar Dubey from the INC won the Maharajganj seat with 53.62% of the total votes polled. The victory margin was 48825 votes over Hem Narayan Sah of the JD(U).
In the 2015 Bihar Legislative Assembly Elections, Hemnarayan Sah of JDU won by defeating Devranjan Singh of Bharatiya Janta Party.
