Matiala Election Results: BJP’s Sandeep Sehrawat Leads
Delhi election results: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)’s Sandeep Sehrawat is leading in the Matiala assembly constituency with a margin of 10,247 votes as per the updates published by the Election Commission of India on its official website. As per the latest lead reports from various media houses, BJP is leading in over 40 seats out of the total 70 seats in the Delhi Assembly.
In Matiala, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)’s Sumesh Shokeen and Indian National Congress’ Raghvinder Singh are in second and third places respectively as per the early leads.
Matiala has seen the constituency shifting its political allegiance since its formation in 2008 with BJP, Congress and AAP.
In 2008, Sumesh Shokeen, the current AAP candidate, won from the constituency on a Congress ticket. In 2013, Rajesh Gehlot of Bharatiya Janata Party, and in 2015 Gulab Singh Yadav of Aam Aadmi Party won from Matialia constituency respectively.
The results for the 2025 Delhi Assembly elections will be announced on Saturday, February 8, determining whether the AAP can secure a fourth consecutive term or if the BJP will reclaim power after 27 years. The Congress, once dominant in Delhi politics, is also attempting a comeback but is expected to remain a minor player.
