In the 2023 Rajasthan Assembly election, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Devi Singh Shekhawat won with 61605 votes in the Bansur Assembly seat. Devi Singh Shekhawat got 33.84 percent of the total votes polled in the constituency. The BJP candidate defeated Rohitash Kumar, the candidate of the Aazad Samaj Party (Kanshi Ram), by a margin of 7420 votes. Rohitash Kumar garnered only 54,185 votes, which was 29.77 percent of the total votes polled. INC”s Shakuntala Rawat came in third by securing 45,639 votes. Shakuntala Rawat was a former member of the legislative assembly of Rajasthan from Bansur.
Bansur is part of the Bansur Lok Sabha constituency. It belongs to the Bansur district of Rajasthan and is categorized as an urban seat. Shakuntala Rawat of the Indian National Congress (INC) was the winning candidate from the Bansur constituency in the Rajasthan assembly elections 2018, securing 65,656 votes, while 47736 votes were polled in favor of Devi Singh Shekhawat, an independent candidate. The margin of victory was 17.92 percent of the votes. The Indian National Congress (INC) had a vote share of 38.98 percent on that occasion.
In the 2013 election, Shakuntala Rawat defeated Rohitash Kumar of the Bharatiya Janatha Party (BJP) by a margin of 23916 votes. Shakuntala Rawat got 71,328 votes, while Rohit Kumar was able to get only 47,412 votes.
