Rajasthan Election Results: Sachin Pilot Wins Tonk Seat

In the 2023 Rajasthan Assembly elections, the Congress leader won in Tonk, one of the most-watched constituencies in the state. While Sachin Pilot secured 1,04,448 votes, BJP candidate Ajit Singh Mehta got 75,211. The winning majority for the Congress candidate is 29,475.

“Once again I have been blessed by the voters of the area and have registered a big victory for Congress from here,” Sachin Pilot posted on X on December 3. The congress leader also added that he would dedicate this victory to the people and workers of Tonk Assembly. “Heartfelt thanks for your support and cooperation. With the cooperation of all of you, the pace of development will continue in Tonk,” added Sachin Pilot in Hindi.

Sachin Pilot earned the attention and popularity of voters in the constituency through various development activities. The Congress leader, also the former deputy Chief Minister, made efforts to improve the medical facilities in Tonk, apart from improving the facilities in the government schools in the region. In the 2018 assembly polls, Sachin Pilot defeated the BJP’s Yoonus Khan with a margin of 54,179 votes. However, Sachin Pilot was not able to surpass the old majority in the 2023 election. Meanwhile, the BJP candidate failed to get the attention of voters, even though he highlighted Sachin Pilot’s absence from the constituency during his tenure.
