Will Pradan Baruah Hit A Hat-trick In Lakhimpur?

Pradan Baruah represents the BJP in the Lakhimpur constituency of the Lok Sabha election 2024. In this election, he is up against Uday Shankar Hazarika of the Congress party.

Pradan Baruah is aiming to hit a hat-trick as he has already made his two consecutive wins through the Lok Sabha elections in 2016 and 2019.

Starting from the Indian National Congress, Baruah made his move to BJP alongside Himanta Biswa Sarma, ahead of the 2016 Assembly elections. Before his parliamentary tenure, Baruah held a seat in the Assam Legislative Assembly, representing the Dhemnji Assembly constituency. 

Pradan Baruah made his entry in BJP from Congress through, the by-election held in 2016. He had also served as a Member of Parliament of Lok Sabha byelection of 2016, prompted by the resignation of the incumbent MP, Sarbananda Sonowal, who assumed the role of Chief Minister of Assam in 2016. Pradhan Baruah who is a quietly influential MP, representing Lakhimpur has consistently shown a deep commitment to public service in his political career. 

He is been a member of parliament of this constituency with his two consecutive wins from the Lok Sabha elections in 2016 and 2019, with a significant victory defeating his congress opponent  Anil Borgohain, by an impressive margin exceeding 350,551 votes. He also works as an active social worker. In this election, he is up against Uday Shankar Hazarika of the Congress.
