‘Rasikan’ Fame Harimurali Found Dead At 27
Harimurali, a former Malayalam film child actor known for his role in the 2004 film Rasikan, was found dead at his residence in Payyannur on Thursday morning. He was 27.
According to local media reports, Harimurali was discovered dead at his home in the Annur area of Payyannur. His body was later shifted to a private hospital in the town for further procedures. The exact cause of death has not yet been officially confirmed.
Harimurali was the son of noted theatre and film actor K. U. Murali and Prasanna. His brother, Sreemurali, is also part of the family. The family is well known in theatre circles in northern Kerala.
Harimurali entered the world of acting at a very young age. His first appearance was in a television serial when he was just four-and-a-half years old, after being introduced to the role by director A. M. Naseer.

He later made his film debut with Rasikan, directed by Lal Jose and starring Dileep in the lead role. His performance in the film drew attention and helped him gain recognition as a child actor.
Following the success of Rasikan, Harimurali appeared in several Malayalam films as a child artist, including Annan Thampi, Madampi, Don, Pattanathil Bhootham, and Ulakam Chuttum Valiban.
In addition to films, he also acted in nearly forty television serials, including popular shows such as Kuttichathan and Kayamkulam Kochunni.
Despite early recognition in cinema, Harimurali later stepped away from acting to focus on his studies and personal life. After completing his schooling, he pursued higher education in visual effects and animation.
He obtained a BSc in Visual Effects and Animation from Bengaluru and later moved to Kochi, where he worked as a graphic designer and VFX artist in a private company.

Though he largely stayed away from the screen, Harimurali made a brief return to cinema with a small role in the hit Malayalam film Amar Akbar Anthony.
In recent years, he had been working behind the scenes in the film industry through the visual effects field. Friends and colleagues say he was passionate about filmmaking and continued to remain connected to cinema through technical work.
Harimurali also came from a family deeply rooted in the performing arts. His father, K.U. Murali had been active in the theatre scene in Payyannur for nearly three decades.
Local reports also mention that actors such as Ganapathi and Babu Annur are among his relatives.
