A Philosophical Smile At The Curtains: Mohanlal On Varshangalkku Shesham Starring Son Pranav, Dhyan

Malayalam great Mohanlal has come out with a note on the movie Varshangalkku Shesham starring his son Pranav Mohanlal and Dhyan Sreenivasan, directed by Vineeth Sreenivasan.

As the experiences end at the curtains, viewer will have a Duchenne smile, Mohanlal wrote on the movie in the note. He called the smile as ‘Philosphical Smile’ as well. Mohanlal, who had struggled in the initial days of his career in Kodambakkam in then Madras, where the ‘dreamers’ of South Indian movies gathered to weave their careers, also commented that the movie has took him to his old times.

In the note Mohanlal mentioned that in Varshangalkku Shesham, Vineeth Sreenivasan is not reinterpreting the hard past in the same magnitude. After encountering through all emotional turmoil, we come across a “philosophical smile”, and the movie saves that.

Before concluding the note, Mohanlal expresses gratitude to all the makers behind the movie.

Varshangalkku Shesham, Vineeth Sreenivasan’s directorial after the blockbuster Hridayam, hit the theatres as Eid and Vishu released last week.

The film weaves the labyrinthine globe of cinema through the experiences of Murali and Venu, both of them are in to art and dreams of doing good in the career. The film is set in 1970s and chronicles the life of two individuals navigating through their dreams to build their name in the cinematic world.

The two, namely Venu, portrayed by Dhyan Sreenivasan, and Murali, portrayed by Pranav Mohanlal leave their hometown in Kerala setting out for Kodambakkam, Madras, which is considered as the hub of South Indian film industry during early 1970 s and 1980s.

Aprt from Pranav Mohanlal and Dhyan Sreenivasan, the movie also features Nivin Pauly, Aju Varghese, Basil Joseph, Kalyani Priyadarshan, Neeraj Madhav and Vineeth Srinivasan himself in cameo role.
