Mollywood actor and television presenter Rajesh Keshav, widely recognised for his dynamic presence at South Indian film events, was rushed to a private hospital in Kochi after collapsing during a live event on Wednesday.

According to filmmaker Prathap Jayalakshmi, Rajesh suffered a cardiac arrest on stage and was immediately taken to Lakeshore Hospital, where he underwent an emergency angioplasty procedure. Currently, he remains on ventilator support as doctors closely monitor his condition.

Rajesh Keshav has delivered notable performances in Malayalam cinema, appearing in films such as Beautiful, starring Jayasurya, Anoop Menon, and Meghana Raj, as well as Trivandrum Lodge, Hotel California, Nee-Na, and Thattum Purath Achuthan.

Known for his engaging work as a television host and actor, Rajesh has become a familiar face at film premieres and events throughout Kerala.

Reports revealed that Rajesh experienced a stroke during the event held at the Crown Plaza Hotel, Kochi, attended by actor Dulquer Salmaan.

“He collapsed suddenly, and within 20 minutes, he was hospitalised. Doctors confirmed a cardiac arrest and performed an angioplasty. He remains on a ventilator, and there are concerns that the stroke may have affected his brain,” shared Prathap Jayalakshmi on social media.

A stroke occurs when blood flow to a part of the brain is blocked or reduced, preventing brain tissue from receiving adequate oxygen and nutrients. Stroke recovery can be complex, with immediate medical intervention being crucial to minimise long-term damage.

While the type of stroke affecting Rajesh Keshav has not been officially disclosed, hospital staff continue to provide critical care and closely monitor his condition.
