Rest assured, necessary and severe action will be taken.Anything that needs to be said and done henceforth will be from my legal department,” the actress wrote in her social media platform on Tuesday.

Many dignitaries in the film industry also slammed the Tamil Nadu politician for spreading baseless rumours about the actress. Actor Kasthuri Shankar said that she was pained that the remark came from someone from a party led by the former Tamil Nadu chief minister Jayalalithaa. Mr Raju later apologised for his comment, noting that his words were misinterpreted.
However, the actor has gone forward with legal action against the politician by sending a defamation notice, claiming compensation for the mental agony and loss of reputation for the past 4 days. The actress in her notice further asked the media houses and other content creators to remove the statement from their publications and social media platforms.
The letter also asked Mr Raju to tender an unconditional apology and publish it in a reputed English newspaper and a Tamil newspaper having a circulation of more than five lakh copies per day.
