Akshay Kumar Set To Make Telugu Debut As Lord Shiva In 'Kannappa' (Image-Instagram/akshaykumar)
Followed by actor Mohanlal, a powerful look of actor Akshay Kumar from the much anticipated mythological thriller Kannappa was dropped today. And this update about the Sky Force star’s Telugu debut has generated much excitement among the fans.
The upcoming mythological directorial of Vishnu Manchu, all set to offer a grand cinematic experience, has been the talk of the town for quite some time. The film, which boasts an impressive cast of Prabhas, Akshay Kumar, Mohanlal, and Kajal Aggarwal, is another factor of excitement.

As the film is about to hit theatres on April 25, 2025, the makers introduced another main character of the story, Lord Shiva, portrayed by Akshay Kumar. The description about the character read, “The Supreme Lord Who Rules Over The Three Worlds Surrenders Himself To Pure Devotion.”
The Singham Again actor, who is stepping into this mythological venture, shared his excitement on social media and wrote, “Stepping into the sacred aura of Mahadev for #Kannappa🏹. Honored to bring this epic tale to life. May Lord Shiva guide us on this divine journey. Om Namah Shivaya!”

Just like the title, Kannappa, the film revolves around the legend of Kannappa, a staunch devotee of the Hindu God, Shiva. The impressive cinematography of the film will feature locations that hold the untouched natural beauty of New Zealand. This is believed to enhance the film’s mythological essence. Moreover, the production involved a massive crew of around 800 people, including local Maori individuals.
Produced by actor-producer Mohan Babu, Kannappa also stars Mohan Babu, R. Sarathkumar, Arpit Ranka, Kaushal Manda, Rahul Madhav, and Devaraj in supporting roles. The music for this mythological thriller is composed by Stephen Devassy.
