Bollywood star actor Akshay Kumar claimed in a recent interview with Times Now that whenever he visits a foreign country, the immigration officials look at his Indian passport with a lot of respect. He also added that the officers then say “Oh, you come from the land of Modi” referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. As this statement went viral, several netizens mocked and trolled the actor for his remark.

“In the real world, many indian passport holders you see at immigration lines are asked about the purpose of their visit, how long they intend to stay, evidence of return ticket, and some go through secondary screenings,” Indian author Salil Tripathi wrote on X. Another user wrote, “The guy”s totally lost it now. He”s gone into the deep rabbit hole of sycophancy instead of cheering from the periphery. Nothing good comes from this.”

While Akshay Kumar”s fans praised him for this statement, some netizens severely criticized it and even claimed that the actor has not visited any foreign country after receiving the Indian passport. On August 15, 2023, Akshay Kumar made a surprising announcement through a post on X, where the actor uploaded an image of the documents confirming his Indian citizenship. This announcement coincided with India”s 77th Independence Day. However, netizens are now claiming that the actor is lying about his foreign trips since receiving Indian passport.

However, the claims that Akshay Kumar has not visited anywhere abroad after August 15 is not fully accurate. Akshay Kumar and his wife Twinkle Khanna had made a trip to London in September. They had also met UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak during an event in London. Twinkle Khanna had shared few images to this event, on her Instagram handle. Akshay Kumar had also missed the “Singham Again” event in September. Through an Instagram post, the actor said that he was out of the country as the reason for his absence in the event. On the other hand, on the film front, Akshay Kumar was last seen in the film Mission Raniganj, which hit the theaters on October 6.
