"Best Cinematic Experience": SS Rajamouli On Abishan Jeevinth's 'Tourist Family'' (Image-X/walpostercinema)
Director Abishan Jeevinth‘s latest comedy entertainer, Tourist Family, made enough buzz in social media, especially among the Tamil audience. The film, which humorously portrays the life of an immigrant family, caught the attention of ace director SS Rajamouli. Here is what the RRR director felt about the film.
The film features prominent stars like Sasikumar, Simran, Mithun Jai Sankar and Kamalesh Jagan as the leads. Tourist Family was a hit at the box office with a collection crossing over Rs 50 crores. The comedy entertainer will hit OTT platforms on May 31.
Director Rajamouli called the film “wonderful and heartwarming”, executed with great writing and direction. The legendary director also felt that the film offered the “best cinematic experience in recent years.”

Excited by the writing and the direction by debutant Abishan, Rajamouli shared his review on his X handle. Tourist Family tells the story of a Sri Lankan family of four who illegally enter Tamil Nadu in search of a better life in the wake of the Covid-19 crisis. As they struggle to assimilate into society under the constant threat of arrest, the film unfolds as a deeply human tale, blending drama, humor, and heartwarming moments.
Jointly produced by Million Dollar Studios and MRP Entertainments, the film is backed by producers Nasareth Baslian, Mahesh Raj Baslian and Yuvaraj Ganesan. The cinematography is handled by Aravind Viswanathan, and editing was done by Bharath Vikraman. The music of the film is scored by Shaan Rahman.
