Case Registered Against Actor-Politician Vijay For Alleged Manhandling Incident During TVK Rally

Madurai, Tamil Nadu: Kunnam police have registered a case against Tamil actor and politician Vijay. The Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) chief was booked for allegedly manhandling by his bouncers during a state conference of his party at Parapathi in Madurai district held on August 20.

Apart from Vijay, FIRs have been registered against 10 others for allegedly manhandling the crowd at the rally. A party worker, Sarathkumar, reportedly sustained a chest injury after Vijay’s bouncers allegedly pushed him forcefully while he tried to climb the ramp, causing him to fall.

Sarathkumar filed a police complaint at the Perambalur District SP’s office, stating that TVK chief Vijay’s bouncers had manhandled him.

The video going around on social media shows the bouncers throwing down the man while Vijay keeps walking by the side. The program venue, which had seating arrangements for over 1.5 lakh people, saw crowds gathering early in the morning to catch a glimpse of the actor turned politician. After founding TVK in 2024, the actor is seeking to be a major force in Tamil Nadu political sphere, which has already seen film personalities entering the area successfully.

Another video showed the fans dangerously hanging off a railing to get glimpses of Vijay. Videos show the crowd struggling to get the actor’s attention while some grab him and jump in excitement.
