The day is really a delightful one for all Dhanush fans. The actor-director unveiled two major announcements today. One being the release date of his directorial Idli Kadai. Having won hearts with his latest heartwarming biographical drama, Amaran, starring Sai Pallavi and Sivakarthikeyan, director Rajkumar Periyasamy is all set to offer something exciting with actor Dhanush. And guys, now it’s officially D55.
Nearly just a week after the release of the Amaran, Peryiasamy has announced his next film with the Raayan actor.

Initiating the new venture with an auspicious pooja ceremony, the D55 team unveiled their new collaboration. Sharing the photos from the occasion on social media, the director wrote, “When good things happen, they happen in a row! Series of optimistic flow of feelings continue through… NEXT It will be #D55 with one of the greatest performers of the country, A Powerhouse of talent, multifaceted @dhanushkraja sir!”
The project will be produced by Anbuchezhiyan and Sushmita Anbu of Gopuram Films, known for producing films like Thanga Magan and Aandavan Kattalai.

Amidst the roaring success, the film Amaran landed in controversy. Since the film’s release, protests erupted, with many alleging that the film propagates Islamophobia. With major Muslim leaders accusing the film’s portrayal of Muslims, the issue erupted with the protest of the Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) party. On Thursday, over 150 members of the Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) protested outside the office of actor Kamal Haasan, who produced the film in Alwarpet, Chennai.
Receiving wide acclamation from both critics and the audience alike, the film has been receiving positive reviews. The biographical venture of Sivakarthikeyan has so far collected Rs 193.41 crores and is expected to enter soon into the Rs 200 crore club.
