Since New Year, a picture of actor Shah Rukh Khan, Gauri Khan, and his son Aryan was widely shared on the internet. The picture went viral and created speculations among people. Yes, it’s the photo that allegedly features the trio offering prayers at Mecca. But what’s the truth behind the viral still?
The photo, which was said to be clicked at Mecca, has triggered rumours claiming that Shah Rukh, along with his family, brought in the New Year at Mecca. Additionally, there was a lot of speculation on the internet that Gauri Khan had converted to Islam after 33 years of marriage.

This allegation arose because, in the picture, she was seen wearing a hijab, while the Jawan actor and the budding filmmaker Aaryan were seen in white kurtas. Mecca locales can be seen in the backdrop. This convinced the social media users that the image was real.
However, there is no truth to this photo. As per an NDTV report, the photo was generated through AI, and it is not real. Notably, SRK celebrated New Year’s Eve at Jamnagar, Gujarat, with the Ambani family.
And it is also important to consider the fact that both the individuals respect their own religion. For the unversed, Shah Rukh and Gauri got married in 1991 in an interfaith marriage. With Gauri being a Hindu, her family had not accepted the marriage, and finally, after many years, the couple was accepted by their families.

Back in 2005, in one of the Koffee with Karan episodes, Gauri told host Karan Johar, “There is a balance. I respect Shah Rukh’s religion, but that doesn’t mean I would convert and become a Muslim. I don’t believe in that. Everyone is an individual and follows their religion. Of course, there should be mutual respect. Shah Rukh would never disrespect my religion, and I wouldn’t disrespect his.”
On the work front, Shah Rukh will be next seen in Siddharth Anand’s crime drama King, in which he will share screen space with daughter Suhana Khan. The film is slated to release in cinemas next year.
