Christmas going to witness a box office clash between Shah Rukh Khan”s Dunki and Prabhas” starrer Salaar. When the former will hit theatres on December 21, the latter will release on December 22. As per the ticket sales report, in terms of advance bookings Dunki surging ahead of Prabhas” movie. Dunki has secured Rs. 7.36 crore opening day collection, whereas Salaar: Part 1- Ceasefire received Rs. 6 crore for all languages, film trade portal Sacnilk reports.
While Dunki, releasing only on Hindi, reportedly sold around 2.75 lakh tickets, Salaar, on the other hand, sold roughly 2.70 lakh tickets in all languages across India. A larger chunck of Dunki“s advance bookings came from Maharashtra, Delhi, West Bengal, Telangana, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Rajasthan, and Madhya Pradesh, Business Today reports. Similarly, Salaar“s advance booking concentrated on states including Karnataka, Kerala, Maharashtra, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Odisha, and Chhattisgarh.
Helmed by Rajkumar Hirani, Dunki is presented by Jio Studios, Red Chillies Entertainment and Rajkumar Hirani Films. Aside from Shah Rukh Khan, the movie also features Taapsee Pannu, Vicky Kaushal, Dia Mirza, Boman Irani, Satish Shah, Vikram Kochhar, Anil Grover, Dharmendra, and many others. Dunki is written by Abhijat Joshi, Rajkumar Hirani, and Kanika Dhillon
Salaar: Part 1-Ceasefire is directed by KGF franchise famed director Prashanth Neel. Along with Prabhas, Prithviraj Sukumaran portrays an important role in the movie. Aside from them, the movie features a stellar cast including Shruti Hassan, Jagapathi Babu, Bobby Simha, Tinnu Anand, Easwari Rao, Sriya Reddy, Ramachandra Raju and many others. The movie is produced by Vijay Kiragandur under the banner of Hombale Films.
As releasing dates are coming closer, on Monday, makers of Dunki has released a new song, “Banda” and a video conversation titled “Dunki Diaries”, and makers of Salaar unveiled a new trailer for the film.
