‘Empuran’ Sets New Record With 645K Ticket Bookings On BookMyShow In Just 24 Hours
Mohanlal-starrer L2: Empuraan, directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran is making a huge impact even before its release, breaking records and setting new benchmarks.
The film, which is eagerly awaited by fans, has shattered all previous ticket booking records with a staggering 645,000 tickets sold through the BookMyShow app within just 24 hours of its advance booking opening.
This achievement marks a new milestone for Indian cinema, making Empuraan the highest-selling film on BookMyShow in such a short span.
The film’s advance ticket sales commenced on March 21 at 9 AM, and the response has been nothing short of phenomenal.

Empuraan has broken records previously held by big-budget films in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi languages.
Within the first hour of opening bookings, the film sold close to 100,000 tickets, creating a new benchmark in the industry.
Produced under the banners of Lyca Productions, Aashirvad Cinemas, and Sree Gokulam Movies, Empuraan is a continuation of the 2019 blockbuster Lucifer.
The film features a star-studded cast, with Mohanlal reprising his iconic role Abr’aam Qureshi, along with Prithviraj, Manju Warrier, Tovino Thomas, Indrajith Sukumaran, Suraj Venjaramoodu, and many more.
The film has also made history by becoming the first Malayalam film to be released in IMAX format. Empuraan is set to have its global release on March 27, starting at 6 AM IST.
It will be distributed across multiple regions, with the Tamil Nadu distribution handled by Sree Gokulam Movies, Andhra/Telangana by Sree Venkateswara Creations, North India by AA Films, and Karnataka distribution by the renowned Hombale Films.
Internationally, the film’s pre-sale bookings have already crossed ₹17 crore, setting yet another new record for Malayalam cinema.

The immense anticipation for Empuraan is clear from the early pre-sale successes, and it looks set to dominate both the domestic and international box office.
