Ganesh Chaturthi, also known as Vinayaka Chaturthi or Ganesh Utsav, is a ten-day festival to celebrate the birth of the Hindu god Ganesha. It begins with the placing of Ganesha’s clay idols on raised platforms at homes or in elaborately decorated pandals (temporary stages) outside. At the end of the festival, these idols are carried in public processions accompanied by music and dances and immersed in the nearby body of water, marking Ganesh’s return to his abode, Mount Kailas.
Ganesh is considered the god of new beginnings and the remover of obstacles. This year, Ganesh Utsav falls on September 19. On the occasion of the festivities, several Bollywood celebrities took to their social media handles and extended their wishes.
Akshay Kumar, on his social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, wished everyone Ganpati Bappa Morya! He prayed Lord Ganesha eliminate all obstacles and fill lives with happiness and prosperity.
