After Twitter users (without knowing about a Malayalam joke on Neil Armstrong landing on Moon and presence of a Malayali there) criticised him, actor Prakash Raj told the “trolls” that “if you don’t get a joke, then the joke is on you…”.
Prakash Raj”s post on India”s Moon mission Chandrayaan-3 has been met with criticism on social media after the Iruvar and Singham actor shared a cartoon depicting a man in a vest and lungi pouring tea, which he captioned “First picture coming from the Moon by #VikramLander Wowww #justasking.”
The cartoon was a reference to an old Malayalam joke about a tea seller on the Moon, which talked about the depth of the impact of migration of Malayalis to several parts of the world, ‘Moon’ in this particular scenario. However, some on X, formerly known as Twitter, interpreted the post as a derogatory swipe at the Chandrayaan-3 mission.·
