Model and internet personality Katie Price has been arrested at Heathrow Airport on her return from Turkey and taken into police custody for failing to attend court.

An arrest warrant was issued against Katie on July 30 after she failed to attend the court hearing relating to her bankruptcy case. The 46-year-old model was arrested at Heathrow at 19:45 BST. She is expected to appear at the Royal Courts of Justice on Friday. Photos of Katie’s arrest surfaced online showing her with bandages around her face.

Katie was declared bankrupt in November 2019 and again this March over unpaid tax bills of more than £750,000. During the hearing in February, she was ordered to pay 40 percent of her monthly income from her website OnlyFans for the next three years.

Reports also reveal that the internet personality had received very clear warnings and was ordered to attend the hearing on July 30. The judge at the previous hearing said that she risked arrest if she did not attend further court dates, adding that evidence must be provided if she could not appear. But it was later informed to the court that the model had traveled to Turkey.

Katie is yet to provide an explanation for her absence from the hearing. Following the same, an arrest warrant was issued on her return to London.

Judge Burton also revealed that an arrest warrant was not issued lightly but Katie had offered only piecemeal co-operation and had failed to provide the most basic information concerning her bankruptcies.

Addressing the issue, Katie previously said that she was not running from matters, but was away working for a documentary on corrective surgeries during the court hearing.

In a now-deleted statement on Instagram, Katie wrote, “I am aware that I am about to be detained at the airport which is obviously what the courts feel is necessary. I do hope of course for my son’s sake who is with me that they will allow some dignity and protection for at least his sake as this will be extremely disturbing for him to see. Whilst I understand the importance and severity of the matter I do feel like I am being treated like a criminal.”
