Among the three love stories being shown in the movie, one is a gay love story. That is the reason for the movie being banned in GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) countries. Prior to the release, the makers of the movie had announced the ban on Little Hearts in GCC, however, the reason behind the ban was not revealed.

The film reportedly explores modern relationship dynamics with three couples in the focus. One of the three romantic stories addresses queer love and explores the taboos surrounding the LGBTQ+ identity. The particular plotline addresses the complexities of the queer identity and the struggle for social acceptance that often lacks when it comes to gay relationships and marriages in Indian society. The film does an okay job in handling the delicate and nuanced aspects of the story.

Earlier, producer Sandra Thomas shared a post on Instagram revealing the unfortunate news. “This news comes as a huge disappointment as we put our heart and soul into making this film… Unfortunately, the reason for the ban cannot be disclosed at this time. Some speculate that there is a mysterious element in the film that led to the ban. I invite you to join me in watching ‘Little Hearts’ tomorrow in cinemas,” said the statement.
