The eagerly awaited black and white horror thriller Mammotty starrer Bramayugam will hit the theaters today. The movie has been caught up in a controversy just days before its release. The character played by Mammootty had to be renamed a day before its release following a court petition filed by Punjamon Illam. The makers changed the character’s name to Kodumon Potti. The family claimed that the character originally Kunjamon or Punjamon Potti, practicing dark magic, was defaming their family name.

The film directed and written by Rahul Sadasivan, dialogues penned by T.D Ramakrishnan, promises to be a gripping cinematic experience.

In the trailer of the film, Mammootty is portrayed as a brooding, dark character who adds to the air of mystery and tension to the story. Hinting at the intricacies of the plot, the words of Arjun Ashokan ‘Ithu Karukkal’ which means ‘these are the pawns’ along with Mammootty”s menacing laugh at the end of the trailer gives out a chilling vibe to the viewers. The trailer of the film was released on February 11 in Abu Dhabi.

Heightening the anticipation surrounding the movie, just three days before its release, the filmmakers also revealed a haunting new poster that featured a sword, shoes and a horn meticulously arranged on the ground. This combination of elements cleverly resembles a buffalo head which symbolizes Yama, the god of death.
Mammootty overall has stolen the spotlight with his eye-dropping transformation in the two-minute-long trailer and is expected to steal the limelight throughout the film too.

The film also includes Arjun Ashokan, Sidharth Bharathan, Amalda Liz and Manikandan R in pivotal roles. Bramayugam is jointly produced by Night Shift Studios and YNOT Studios.

Without any uncertainty, the black-and-white film is set to be a promising, gripping and hair-raising cinematic experience for horror enthusiasts.
