Money Laundering Case: Actor Jayasurya Clarifies ED Questioning, Calls Media Reports Misleading
Malayalam actor Jayasurya has said that all his financial transactions were legal after he and his wife were questioned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with a money laundering investigation linked to an online investment scheme.
Jayasurya clarified on Friday that he has fully cooperated with the agency and has nothing to hide.
“All my dealings were legitimate. I am an ordinary, responsible citizen who followed the law and paid all taxes,” the actor said in a statement shared on social media.

The ED questioned Jayasurya and his wife, Saritha, under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) as part of its probe into an alleged cheating and money laundering case involving an online investment platform called ‘Save Box’.
The scheme is said to have been operated by Swathi Rahim, who is facing multiple cheating cases.

According to the reports, Jayasurya was associated with the company as a brand ambassador. The agency is investigating whether funds collected from investors were diverted and whether any of those transactions involved the actor.
Jayasurya said he first appeared before the ED on December 24, 2025, after receiving a summons. He was questioned again on December 29, along with his wife, following a second summons.
However, the actor denied reports suggesting that he had been asked to appear again on January 7. “We have not received any fresh summons,” he said.
As per the reports, Swathi Rahim told investigators that part of the money collected from investors was paid to people in the film industry.
The ED is examining claims that Jayasurya received money for endorsing the scheme.
Rahim has allegedly stated that around Rs 30 lakh was paid through banking channels, while a larger amount was paid in cash and handed over at a boutique run by the actor’s wife.
Responding to these allegations, sources said Jayasurya informed the ED that a formal endorsement agreement was signed for Rs 75 lakh. Out of this, Rs 69 lakh was received through proper banking channels from Save Box Concepts Pvt Ltd.
